And gradually, you stop noticing the frame at all.
You simply see the person in the portrait.
The frame has done its job.
Why framing?
Framing protects your portrait and allows you to live with it every day.
Instead of being carefully stored away, it becomes part of the room.
Seen in passing.
Looked at without having to go looking for it.
Some portraits belong where you can see them.
Choosing a frame
A frame should never compete with the portrait.
It should support it.
I offer a small range of timeless frames chosen to work with my portraits.
Nothing ornate.
Nothing trend-driven.
The portrait remains the focus.
Choosing the size and place
We'll consider the portrait, the size of the wall and where it will be seen.
A single portrait may need space around it.
Several portraits may work better together.
You don't need to know the size or frame before your portrait session.
We'll decide that once you have chosen the photographs you want to keep.
The portrait comes first.
