A company needs its headshots to belong together.
The same background. The same lighting. The same standard of finish.
I photograph corporate teams and leadership groups who need a consistent set of professional portraits for company websites, staff profiles, annual reports and other business communications.
The lighting and background may remain consistent. The people shouldn't all look the same.
What makes a good set of team headshots?
Consistency matters.
When staff portraits have been collected over several years, photographed by different people or submitted by employees themselves, the result can quickly become a mixture of backgrounds, crops, lighting and image quality.
A properly photographed set makes the team look as though the portraits belong together.
That doesn't mean giving everybody the same expression or forcing them into the same pose.
Each person is directed individually.
Consistency shouldn't come at the expense of personality.
In the studio or at your offices
Teams of up to 15 people are photographed in my Johannesburg studio.
Larger teams can be photographed on location at their offices.
For larger teams, I can bring a controlled headshot setup to your offices, depending on the size of the group and the requirements of the project.
The aim is the same in either setting: consistent lighting, background, composition and finish across every portrait.
For organisations with several offices or teams photographed over time, we establish the photographic standard at the beginning so that new portraits can be added without starting again.
One visual standard, however many people need to be photographed.
What happens on the day
Nobody needs to arrive knowing what to do.
I photograph each person individually and direct posture, angle and expression throughout.
Some people need more help than others.
That's normal.
The process needs to move efficiently for the company without making the person in front of the camera feel rushed.
Efficient doesn't have to mean impersonal.
Preparing your team
Good preparation makes a noticeable difference when several people are being photographed.
Before the session, I provide guidance that can be shared with everyone taking part so they know what to wear, what to bring and what to expect.
Clothing should be well-fitting, freshly pressed and in excellent condition. Fading, fraying, pilling and loose threads are far more visible in a finished portrait than people expect.
Where a company has particular wardrobe or brand requirements, we can establish those beforehand.
The fewer surprises on the day, the better.
Leadership teams
A leadership team may need exactly the same visual consistency as the rest of the organisation.
Sometimes, however, an individual executive also needs a portrait for an annual report, media interview, conference programme, board announcement or other public-facing work.
That is a slightly different job.

Adding new people later
Teams change.
People join. People leave. Websites get updated.
One advantage of establishing a clear photographic standard is that new team members can be photographed later and added to the existing set without the whole company needing to be photographed again.
The background, lighting, crop and finish can be matched to the original portraits.
The team can change without the photographs looking as though they did.
Retouching
Every final portrait is individually retouched by me.
Temporary distractions can go. Clothing is tidied where necessary and the final images are finished to the same standard across the team.
But people remain people.
Skin retains texture. Faces retain character.
Professional doesn't mean identical.
Experience matters
I have specialised in portrait photography since 2005 and am one of only two Master Portrait Photographers in Africa accredited by The Portrait Masters.
I have photographed individuals, executives and teams across a wide range of professions and organisations.
For corporate work, the photography is only part of the job.
Planning matters.
Timing matters.
And when twenty people need to get back to work, keeping things moving matters too.
Good photographs. Minimum fuss.
Corporate team pricing
Corporate team headshots are quoted according to the number of people being photographed and the requirements of the organisation.
Teams of up to 15 people are photographed in my Johannesburg studio.
Larger teams can be photographed on location at your offices.
For smaller groups of 1–5 people, individual headshot pricing applies.
Team rates apply from six people.
For larger teams, multiple offices or projects photographed over several days, I will prepare a quote based on the requirements of the job.
