During Covid, I revisited a number of images that still felt important to me and entered them for judging.
What mattered most was not the awards themselves, but what they represented.
The portraits that received recognition were often the same portraits that mattered most to me — images built on careful lighting, honest expression, strong composition, and a genuine connection with the person in front of the camera.
