Model & performer photography in Johannesburg

Studio portfolio portraits for models, actors, and performers created with clarity and direction.

We shape the work slowly so that each image earns its place.

This is a guided studio experience for aspiring and working models, actors, and performers who need a portfolio that represents them clearly.

It is not built around volume, trends, or quick test shoots.

It is built around intention.

Whether you are building your first portfolio, refreshing your book, or creating casting-ready portraits, I guide the process from start to finish in my Johannesburg studio.

Every decision is made to strengthen the portfolio as a whole, not simply to create more photographs.

A considered approach

A strong portfolio is not built by creating more portraits. It is built by creating the right portraits.

My work is about building a body of portraits that represent you honestly, confidently, and professionally.

My role as your photographer

You do not need prior experience.

I guide you through posture, angle, hands, expression, line, and light so that you understand not only how an image looks, but why it works.

You are never left to figure it out alone.

Who this experience is for

This experience is designed for:

  • new models building their first professional portfolio
  • working models refining or refreshing their book
  • actors requiring clean, expressive crossover portraits
  • performers strengthening their professional presentation.

Teen talent is welcome, with a parent or guardian present throughout.

The studio experience

We work one look at a time, shaping wardrobe, posture, expression, and light with care.

The pace is calm and deliberate.

That pace allows confidence to settle, direction to remain precise, and each portrait to be crafted with intention rather than haste.

Strong work does not come from speed. It comes from attention.

Wardrobe guidance

Wardrobe plays an important role in how your portfolio reads.

I usually recommend clean base pieces in black, white, denim, or neutral tones, form-fitting garments that show shape and line, one structured layer such as a jacket or knit, and, where appropriate, one stronger editorial piece.

I usually recommend:

  • clean base pieces in black, white, denim, or neutral tones.
  • form-fitting garments that show shape and line.
  • one structured layer, such as a jacket or knit.
  • where appropriate, one stronger editorial piece.
  • logos, busy patterns, and distracting accessories are best avoided.

Professional makeup can be arranged on request.

Portfolio structure

Every portrait has a role to play.

A strong portfolio is usually built from a balanced set of portraits, often including:

  • a clean, honest portrait,
  • a confident full-length image,
  • a softer or more natural look, and
  • a portrait with a more editorial feel.

The balance is guided by how your work will be seen and used professionally.

A stronger portfolio comes from clarity, not volume.

Image selection and retouching

Images are viewed after your session.

I guide the selection process with professional use, representation, and clarity in mind.

Retouching is professional and restrained.

Skin is refined, not altered.

Shape and proportion remain honest.

You still look like you.

Unedited files are not supplied.

Investment

This is about creating a portfolio that opens doors and continues to represent you long after the session is over.

There is a moment, after your session, where everything becomes still again.

This is where you choose what will remain.

My work is not built around volume.
It is built around presence, clarity, and the weight a single portrait can hold over time.

The session

Your session fee is R3000.

This includes my time in the studio, creative direction and posing, use of my curated space, professional lighting and equipment, and the full portrait experience from preparation through to your viewing.

Your collection

Before your session, you will choose a collection.

This is not simply about the number of portraits —
it determines the depth of your session, the time we spend creating, and how fully your portfolio is explored.

Foundation
A simple beginning.

Signature
A deeper reflection.

Portfolio
A fuller, more expansive body of work.

After your session

Once your session is complete, you will be guided through your images and select your final portraits.

Each image is carefully selected, professionally retouched, and delivered as finished portraits.

Your chosen collection becomes the starting point for what you keep.

Additional portraits can be added should you wish to keep more.

Why it is done this way

You begin with intention — choosing the level of experience that feels right for you.

And only afterwards do you decide what you cannot leave behind.

Booking your session

Sessions take place in my Johannesburg studio and are carefully planned before the day of the shoot.

To confirm your booking, payment of the session fee and your chosen collection is required in advance via EFT.

Once your booking is confirmed, we'll discuss wardrobe, looks, and creative direction so that everything is prepared before you step in front of the camera.
