GETTING READY FOR YOUR PORTRAIT PHOTOSHOOT
There is nothing worse than being unprepared and forgetting an essential item.
General Suggestions
- Bring multiple outfits; having options is a practical approach.
- Think timeless. Trendy outfits date quickly.
- Make sure your clothes are clean.
- If anything needs dry cleaning or ironing, take care of it.
- Bring your outfits on hangers to avoid wrinkles. Change at my studio.
- Ensure your clothes fit; so often an issue since COVID-19.
- Collared shirts should not be too tight or loose.
- If you don't want your arms to show, cover them.
- Dark colours are slimming.
- Solid colours are safest, practical and timeless.
- Avoid bright clothes. It distracts.
- Prints and florals work sometimes.
- Layering adds interest.
- Dress the part.
- Choose a colour palette and style for group photos - browse my galleries.
- Keep jewellery to a minimum unless it is your signature look.
- Smartwatches are not timeless.
- Ensure your nails are moisturised and trimmed - for both men and women.
- If you colour your fingernails, choose a neutral or clear tone. Less distracting.
- Natural make-up is better than complete makeovers.
- If your visit to the hairdresser is due, go a week before the shoot to get used to it.
- If you wear glasses with anti-reflection coating, bring them.
- If you are still unsure, bring everything. I'll help you select.
- Leave timeously with my location pin loaded.
- Come energised. It is hard work. But I guarantee an incredible experience.
